Having trouble with TypeKey registration?
May 10, 2005
Dear Mrs. Helpful,
Q. I am having trouble completing my registration with TypeKey. Can you help me out so I can leave a comment on CrotonBlog.com? I am getting the following error:
A. CrotonBlog.com requires people who want to make comments to establish a TypeKey account. The registration process helps us to avoid "comment spam" and eliminate malicious remarks made by anonymous users. The following tutorial provides a step-by-step guide to the registration process. 1. Choose a username, password and VALID email address on the TypeKey new registration form (click on image below to enlarge). If this happens, select the link in your email, copy it, paste it into the address bar in your web browser. Be sure to remove the "<" and ">" characters and hit enter. * Use your TypeKey to log in to TypeKey-enabled weblogs and web sites; * Manage your TypeKey profile: www.typekey.com; * Please remember that your login info IS case sensitive... To make a comment on an article that appears on CrotonBlog.com, please follow these directions: 1. Click on the "Comments" link which appears at the bottom of each article excerpt. You will be directed to the TypeKey login page where you sign in. 2. After successfully signing into your account, you will be redirected back to the top of the page of the originating article that you wish to comment on. Scroll down to the end of the article, where you will see the area in which you can fill in with your comment. 3. After entering your comment, please click "Post" to submit your commentary. Done. I hope this helps. If not please send us an email message requesting support. -- Mrs. H. P.S. - If you still can't resolve your TypeKey issue, contact us directly, and we'll try and help you, or you can contact TypeKey directly and use their support form.
Tools: Dear Mrs. Helpful, I find your column quite, well, helpful. Is that your real picture? May I ask if there is a Mr. Helpful?
2. After submitting your information, a confirmation screen appears that directs you to your email account to verify your new identity (see image below).
3. Go to your email account (see image below), and click the link in the email.
NOTE: - Sometimes the "<" character at the beginning and the end are made part of the link (the blue underlined part), which causes the link not to work.
4. You're all done! A confirmation page will appear next notifying you that your account has been successfully created (see image below), allowing you to:
