June 20, 2005

2:28 PM: Patrol arrested an 18-year-old male from Croton-on-Hudson for criminal possession of a weapon, a knife, which is a 3rd degree misdemeanor. The individual was arraigned in Village Court and bail was set at $3,000. Later, the individual was transported to the Westchester County Jail.

4:17: There was a request from the MTA Police to assist them at the Croton Harmon Train Station with an individual who disorderly and was threatening the crew of the train. Patrol responded to assist while MTA police who arrested the individual in question.

4:22 PM: There was a report of large black snake under a car on Grand Street. Patrol responded and found snake under the hood of the vehicle. Police and a bystander removed snake and subsequently released it into the woods.

6:50: An alarm company called to report a fire alarm activation at the Holy Name of Mary Church on Grand Street. Fire Department and Patrol responded to find a false alarm caused by a child pulling the alarm switch.

7:05 PM: An alarm company called to report a fire alarm activation at Skyview Apartments on North Riverside Avenue. Fire Department and Patrol responded to find a false alarm caused by one the patients pulling the alarm switch.

June 21, 2005

6:45 AM: A resident of Grand Street called to report that some time overnight a beer bottle was thrown at their resulting in a broken window. Patrol responded and confirmed the damage. The matter is under investigation.

12:05 PM: A manager from the Shoprite supermarket on South Riverside Avenue reported a larceny of money from a cashier. The matter is under investigation.

June 22, 2005

12:54 PM: An alarm company called to report a fire alarm activation at The Harmon Fire Station. Fire Department responded and found that an air conditioning unit of the roof had overheated.

7:39 PM: A resident of Finney Farm Road called to report the she found an archery arrow in her yard. The matter is under investigation.

June 23, 2005

10:23 AM: An alarm company called to report a fire alarm activation at a residence on Franklin Avenue. Fire Department and Patrol responded to find that the alarm was set off accidentally by a home inspector.

3:40 PM: A resident of South Riverside Avenue called to report that her purse was stolen from her parked car. The matter is under investigation.

11:03 PM: Patrol stopped a vehicle on Grand Street for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, the driver was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The individual as brought to Police HQ and later on own recogniacense and is due in Village Court July 6, 2005 at 9:30 AM.

June 24, 2005

12:14 PM: An alarm company called to report a fire alarm activation at Croton Harmon High School. Fire Department and Patrol responded to find that the alarm was set off accidentally by construction workers.

6:00 PM: There was a report from an individual in the Brook Street area that had a rock been thrown at a parked car causing unspecified damage. The matter is under investigation.

7:18 PM: There was a call from the Westchester County Police for assistance. The Fire Department boat and its crew responded to a report of a seaplane adrift with one occupant in the Hudson River near the quarry in Verplanck.

8:40 PM: There was a report from an individual on Croton Point Avenue that their parked car near Veteran's Plaza had sustained a broken windshield. Patrol responded and determined that a rock thrown at the vehicle had caused the damage. The matter is under investigation.

June 25, 2005

6:48 PM: There was a report of a fallen tree partially blocking Batten Road. Patrol responded and directed the Department of Public Works to cleanup the fallen debris.

10:45 AM: There was a report from an individual at the Croton Harmon train station parking lot that their parked car had sustained a broken windshield. Patrol responded and determined that a rock thrown at the vehicle had caused the damage. The matter is under investigation.

11:51 AM: There was a report of damage to property owned by the Holy Name of Mary Church, also bordered by Vassallo Park. Patrol responded and confirmed damage to a tile on patio in back of the church situated near a statue. Patrol also found garbage strewn around the area. The matter is under investigation.

2:50 PM: Patrol responded to a call from an individual in the Croton Commons of a fight in progress. Patrol and Fire Department responded. Upon investigation, a 22-year-old Staten Island resident was charged with Assault in the 3rd degree, a misdemeanor. The victim of the assault was treated by Croton Fire Department EMS and later transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital. The individual who was arrested was taken into custody by Croton Police, arraigned by the judge, who set bail at $1,000. The Staten Island resident was later released and is due in Village Court on June 29, 2005 at 9:30 AM.

10:54 PM: There was a report of disorderly group throwing bottles off the Route 9 pedestrian overpass near Brook Street and the Croton Yacht Club. Patrols responded to find no one at the scene. The matter is under investigation.

June 26, 2005

5:27 PM: There was a report of some money taken from the counter at Angelina's Pizza on Pasta on South Riverside Avenue. The matter is under investigation.

5:43 PM: There was a report of someone by the Croton River off Nordica Drive with a lit BBQ grill. Park ranger responded and asked individual to extinguish the fire without incident. Detective Lt. confirms that no fires of any kind are permitted on this parcel of public property.
