Fireworks and Live Music at Kensico
Join thousands of people from all over Westchester to enjoy a free concert of patriotic music by the county’s premier chamber orchestra, followed by a magnificent fireworks display during the Kensico Dam Music Fest with the Westchester Philharmonic and Fireworks Display Sunday, July 3, 7:40 p.m., at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.
Pre-concert entertainment begins at 6 p.m. and features performances by the Westchester Blue Notes, stilt-walking Uncle Sam and the Golden Chordsmen.
The popular Kensico Dam Plaza hosts a variety of events throughout the year and is visited by hundreds of thousands of people who attend its summer cultural heritage series, the annual music fest and the Bronx River Festival in the fall. The park is currently being upgraded and refurbished and includes the fountains that flank the historic stone dam which are operating again. For the first time, the park has a full-time superintendent and staff, and will be the site of the Rising, the 9/11 memorial that will be constructed within the next year.
The Kensico Dam Plaza is located at the north end of the Bronx River Parkway and can be reached via the Taconic State Parkway or Route 22.
