In June, the Muscarelle Museum of Art at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, announced the award winners for the American Drawing Biennial 8 exhibition.

The juror, Phyllis Rosenzweig, curator of works on paper at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpyure Garden, a Smithsonian Institution selected three drawings from the 52 entries from 19 states that were accepted for the exhibition.

"Ablaze", Vellum and Thread, 36" x 48" by Gail Biederman of Croton-on-Hudson was one of the works selected.
