250 Candles

July 27, 2005

Celebrate the 250th birthday of one of the most beloved composers of all time during “Happy Birthday Amadeus” – a salute to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – during final “Midsummer Music with the Westchester Philharmonic” concert Saturday, July 30, at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Somers.

The evening’s program is a preview of the Philharmonic’s upcoming season and will feature the Overture to Cosi fan tutti and Flute Concerto in D, K.314 with Paul Lustig Dunkel.

Under the direction of Paul Lustig Dunkel, the Westchester Philharmonic is a nationally recognized professional orchestra that has served the county’s culturally diverse population and provided an artistic outlet for the area’s composers and performers for more than 20 years. Now in its 22nd year, the Westchester Philharmonic comprises the finest musicians from the greater New York area, and many have played since its debut in 1983.

The gates open at 5 p.m. for picnicking; the music begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets for “Midsummer Music with the Westchester Philharmonic” are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18 per event. Group tickets are available by calling the Westchester Philharmonic at (914) 682-3707 ext. 10. Somers residents receive a 20% discount on all tickets.
