And the Winners Are...

On Wednesday, August 17, 2005, Silver Lake Park and the Village Recreation Department hosted the 1st Annual Sand Castle Building Contest.

At 5:00 PM, after a full-day of sand building, the Silver Park lifeguards judged the various entries and awarded color ribbons during a beach side ceremony to the winners.

The sand castle, pictured here, won 1st prize in 11 to 15-years-old competition. The other sandy entries, including one called “Peace Rocks” and another of a family of turtles, can be seen in this slideshow, of 25 pictures, called “Works of Creation”.
