Police Blotter - Week of September 5th

September 13, 2005

September 7

5:34 PM: There was a call from an employee at Hudson National Golf Club about a hiker on the course who would not leave the property as requested. Patrols responded and was unable to locate the person in question.

September 8

7:02 AM: There was a report from a resident of Observatory Drive about a sick skunk near her sidewalk. Patrol responded to destroy and dispose of the animal without any stink.

1:22 PM: There was a call from a bus dispatcher at a private bus company, Miles Square, reporting that one of their drivers was driving on Route 9 North, and called in to report that another driver had displayed a knife as they passed the bus. Patrol responded and was unable to locate the car in question.

5:22 PM: There was a fire alarm activated at a residence on North Highland Place. Patrol and Fire Department responded and determined that the alarm was accidentally set off by a contractor working on the premises.

September 11

12:12 AM: There was report from a resident of Franklin Avenue about loud noise coming from a party. Patrol responded and spoke to homeowner in question and requested that they lower the volume without incident.

12:45 PM: There was a report from a resident of Wood Road about a gas odor in the kitchen. Patrol and Fire Department responded, and in turn, notified Con Edison who identified a leak in the road and subsequently completed a repair.

5:12 PM: There was an alarm activated at Skyview Nursing Home on Albany Post Road about an burning electrical-type smell. Patrol and Fire Department responded and found an overheated fan on the roof that was determined to be the cause of the odor.

6:47 PM: Officer on Patrol near Jacoby Street stopped a car for vehicle and traffic infractions. Further the driver, a Connecticut resident, was arrested for DWI. The vehicle was towed and impounded. The driver was arraigned by the judge and transported to the Westchester County jail in lieu of bail. The individual is due back in Village Court on September 14, 2005 at 9:30 AM.

September 12

1:02 PM: There was a report from PVC that a video camera had been stolen from the school sometime in the previous week. The matter is under investigation.
