The New Horizon Garden Club will host a Harvest Celebration Flower Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 23, 24 and 25, in the Main House Gallery at Muscoot Farm in Somers.
The exhibition will showcase 24 designs in the petite standard or “small screen” style in 41 classes of horticulture. To qualify, exhibits must be naturally small or designated as “dwarf” or “miniature” by nurseries or plant societies, and cannot exceed eight inches in height. Any amateur grower who is a garden club member may enter exhibits.
The show will run Friday, from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Muscoot Farm is 777-acre early-1900s interpretive farm that is home to a variety of farm animals such a cows, chickens, horses and sheep, amidst a setting of historic agricultural buildings and vintage farm equipment. Interpretive programs are offered on weekends.
Muscoot Farm is a facility of Westchester County Parks. It can be reached via I-684, exit 6; head west off the exit and head south on Route 100. The farm is one mile ahead on the right.
