Skate the Town Blue

September 22, 2005

They’re back! The New York Rangers hockey team is back on the ice for the 2005-2006 season. And, to celebrate their return, the Rangers will host “Skate the Town Blue” at the Playland Ice Casino on Saturday, September 24, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Playland Park in Rye.

During “Skate the Town Blue,” adults and children of all ages will be able to skate for free, while they enjoy fun skating games, a Rangers trivia contest and much more to win Rangers prizes.

Skaters can even enter to win a sweepstakes for the grand prize drawing and to become a Ranger for a Day, which includes a morning skate at the Rangers’ practice facility, tickets to a regular season game, plus a visit to the locker room area after the game at Madison Square Garden.

To add to the festivities, a current or former Rangers player or team personality will make an appearance at the Ice Casino to join the fun.

Admission and parking for the event are free. The Playland Ice Casino is a facility of Westchester County Parks. It is located at Playland Park in Rye and can be reached via the New England Thruway (I-95), exit 19 Playland Parkway. Follow this into the park.
