With the cold weather coming and outdoor summer music jams fast becoming a memory, a “Last Waltz” for musicians at is set for Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, 2005 (Columbus Day weekend) from 1 PM to dusk) at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
Easily accessible by car or train and with ample parking, restaurants and lodging this would be a pleasant good-bye to summer and, with cool fall temperatures, a forecast of cold weather to come. There will be no formal or central registration for this event; it is a “come-as-you-can” event in which each musician takes care of him or herself.
Essentially, get there, bring your instruments & a chair to sit on and jam with old friends or make new friendships that might continue into the winter months. Bring lunch with you if you wish. Jams begin about 1 pm and continue until dusk, when the park closes.
Afterwards, those staying on can go out for dinner in the good company of new or old friends at one of several restaurants in the area. If you wish to stay over, there are some campsites available on a first come - first serve basis. There are also nearby motels, all detailed on the information sheet, as well as nearby restaurants and train or car travel directions.
If you wish detailed information and/or a map to be sent to you by e-mail, it is available upon request. Send an e-mail to: rgamusic (AT) bestweb.net
