Police Blotter - Week of September 26th

October 4, 2005

September 27

9:06 PM: Patrol stopped a vehicle traveling on Route 9 South for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon investigation, officer found the driver to be in Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, violation. The driver’s car was impounded, he was brought to police headquarters, where he was later released and is due in Village Court on October 5, 2005 at 9:30 AM

9:10 PM: A resident of Batten Road reported what he thought was a rifle shot in the area of Daley Drive. Patrol responded and no evidence of a gun shot.

10:12 PM: The was a report from a resident from Half Moon Bay about what he thought was a rifle shot. Patrol and Westchester County police responded and no evidence of a gun shot.

September 28

1:25 PM: A Recreation Department employee reported that sometime in the past week, someone had damaged, the port-o-san at Dobbs field by pouring sand into the toilet. The matter is under investigation.

7:37 AM: On Route 9 North, near Senasqua Road, there was report of a car that went off the road into the embankment. Patrol responded and assisted in traffic control. The driver was also transported to the Westchester County Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

September 29

9:43 AM: The was a report of someone dumping debris on the side of the road near Silver Lake Park. Patrol responded and had the person clean up the debris. The matter remains under further investigation.

8:23 PM: There was a report of youths lying in the roadway on South Riverside Avenue near Brook Street. Patrol responded and cleared the group from the area without incident.

9:32 PM: There was a report from a resident on Maple Street about a fire in the their laundry room. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene and safely extinguished a fire in the dryer vent.

September 30

2:24 PM: There was a report about a group of disorderly youths in front of Croton Harmon High School. Patrol responded and had some of the individuals in question leave the area.

October 1

10:57 AM: There was a report from a resident on Alexander Lane that sometime overnight, the deer statue on her property was damaged. The matter is under investigation.

12:05 PM: There was an activated fire alarm at Skyview Nursing Home. Patrol and fire department responded and determined that a cause for the alarm was a malfunctioning smoke detector on the second floor of the building.

2:50 PM: Patrol stopped a vehicle on Route 9 North for numerous vehicle and traffic violations including, improper plates, no insurance, speeding and driving an unregistered vehicle. Officer placed the driver, a 25-year-old male, from Peekskill, under arrest. Subsequently the individual ran from the scene. Soon after the person in question was apprehended nearby and charged with Resisting Arrest and Escape 3rd Degree, both misdemeanors. The driver was brought to police headquarters and later released on $500.00 bail and is due in Village Court on October 5, 2005 at 9:30 AM.

5:12 PM: A resident of Hastings Avenue reported that she smelled smoke in her kitchen. Patrol and Fire Department responded but did not find and smoke.
