Go Greyhound

October 23, 2005

The Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation Service set up a table to promote pet adoption outside The Black Cow on Saturday morning, October 22, 2005.

With the help of volunteer, Croton-on-Hudson resident and Greyhound owner Sue Burnette, the group passed out adoption information and introduced three friendly and gentle dogs (view slideshow) to passers-by who were getting coffee, going to the bank and checking on the Annual Holloween Window Painting Contest.

The greyhounds are retired racing dogs who are in need of loving homes. By nature, the dogs are playful and sensitive, making them very endearing to all.

The adoption and caregiving service will be back at The Cow again on the morning of Sunday, November 6, 2005 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM to provide residents with another chance to consider being part of what greyhound owners consider to be a very rewarding experience.

The Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation service can also be contacted by visiting their website,, or by calling 914-763-2221 for more information.
