Yellow and Blue Make Green for Charity

October 26, 2005

On October 22, 2005, The Croton Council on the Arts hosted a silent auction benefit in the community room of the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building which featured 83 works of art (view slideshow) from area artists.

The benefit raised $8,000, all of which, will go to Habitat for Humanity, for rebuilding efforts in the hurricane ravaged Gulf Coast region of our country. An oil painting by Joan Diamant fetched the highest bid in the auction, and was sold for $1,000.

The CCoA, as a non-profit group itself, is very grateful and thanks those who contributed their artwork to the cause, the volunteers for their time in making the event such a success, and to sponsors that donated food, beverages and other supplies needed for the event.

Since 1977, CCoA has sponsored and promoted events that feature both local and visiting artists, nurturing a greater appreciation of the arts and a richer quality of life in our community. They welcome new members to join them in their 28th year of celebrating the arts in historic Croton on Hudson.
