Clear Winners All Around Town

November 1, 2005

The Halloween Window Painting Contest, held last Saturday, October 22, 2005 produced more than fifty spooky and creepy masterpieces that remain on display throughout the Village on the store windows of local merchants.

Last Wednesday, judges from the Croton-on-Hudson Department of Parks and Recreation bestowed awards for the top efforts. As you will see in this photo gallery, the decision must not have been easy at all. One of the first prizes was given to the family, Nolan (10), Declan (7), Charlotte (5), Karen and Jeff for “The King of Halloween.”

Crotonblog is especially proud of the Thorntons, as Jeff and Karen are among our 7 founding members. Pictured left, is their family’s contest entry, followed by photos (view photo gallery) of nearly all others who placed, received honorable mentions and got runner-up distinctions.

This event was sponsored by the Village of Croton-on-Hudson and the Croton-on-Hudson Chamber of Commerce. Click here to read “Paint the Town Scary”, which includes pictures of some local artist hard at work producing their Halloween-themed paintings.
