Police Blotter - Week of October 31st

November 7, 2005

October 31

9:39 PM: There was a report from a resident of Batten Road of a brush fire on the side of the road. Patrol and Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire without incident.

10:51 PM: Officer on patrol discovered that at some time during the night, someone had spray painted a stop sign on Old Post Road North and Prospect Place. The matter is under investigation.

November 1

6:15 AM: There was a report from a resident of Croton that he had locked his keys in his car while it was running. Patrol responded and helped the individual gain access to his car.

8:30 AM: There was a report from a resident of Olcott Avenue that some time overnight while her care was parked on the street in front of her home, her Harmon Parking permit was stolen. The matter is under investigation.

3:00 PM: There was a report from a resident of Palmer Avenue that some time overnight while her car was parked on the street in front of her home someone had sprayed paint on the car. The matter is under investigation.

November 2

12:08 PM: Police Detective arrested a 37-year-old Cortlandt resident for petty larceny of some cash from the Croton Community Nursery School after an ongoing investigation. The woman was released on her own recognizance and is due in Village Court on November 9, 2005 at 9:30 AM.

November 3

12:03 PM: There was a report from a resident of Maple Street that sometime overnight someone stole an 8-foot inflatable scare crow from her front yard. The matter is under investigation.

November 4

10:44 AM: There was a report about people putting hand-bills on parked cars at the Harmon train station. Patrol responded and located a male and a female who were issued uniform traffic ticket and were instructed to remove all advertisements from those cars.

3:30 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that at some time during the day someone had stolen prescription medicine from their car. The matter is under investigation.

November 5

3:28 AM: Patrol stopped a vehicle on Route 9 South and arrested the driver for various vehicle and traffic violations, DWI and driving with a suspended license. The individual was brought to Police HQ where he was released to a family member after posting $100.00 bail and is due in Village Court on November 16, 2005 at 9:30 AM.

4:47 PM: There was a report of youths on Brook Street throwing items at passing cars. Patrols responded and were unable to locate the persons in question.
