Some Clarification Please
January 5, 2006
Regarding the resolution passed regarding the sharing of costs for the use of the Croton Point fields with the School District (see: “Village and School District Partner on Croton Point Ball Fields”), I believe this is simply the mechanism for the Village to be paid for expenses already incurred in the Fall of 2005. I may be wrong, but I do not believe that it represents or implies that the Village Board has decided to sign the IMA with the County for the future management of the Croton Point fields. It would be useful to have this clarified.

Ms. Gallelli;
Thank you for your Letter to the Editor. In response to your request for clarification, I have transcribed a portion of the video clip taken from the Village Board Meeting, held on January 3, 2006. The video clip can be seen in the “Village and School District Partner on Croton Point Ball Fields” article.
It seems as though the Village has not entered into an IMA for 2006 as yet, based on comments by Mr. Herbek.
Video transcription:
Trustee Jim Steinberg: “Do we have an idea what the the proposed IMA (Inter-municipal Agreement) will be with the County as far as the time frame, as far as the starting date for that is? Has there been any conversation on that?”
Village Manager Rick Herbek: “I believe where we’re at with this is we need to hear back from the County Recreation and Parks Department. And we had proposed a fairly short timeframe for them to consider, I think it was two years with a possible two-year extension.”
