January 18

There were several reports of downed trees and wires on Morningside Drive, Olcott Avenue, Mt. Airy Road and Truesdale Drive blocking roads. Patrol, Croton Department of Public Works and in some cases, Con Edison responded to clear debris from the blocked roads.

2:33 PM: There was a report from a resident on Lexington Drive that she heard a loud noise and smelled smoke in her home. Patrol and Fire Department responded and extinguished a fire in the kitchen. No injuries were reported.

January 19

8:48 AM: There was a request for mutual aid for a structure fire in Ossining. Croton Fire Department responded to the scene to help extinguish the blaze.

January 20

4:36 PM: There was a report from a resident on Hastings Avenue that smoke was entering his home through the chimney. Patrol and Fire Department responded and helped the homeowner correct the incident. No injuries or damage to property was reported.

January 21

2:03 PM: There was a report of a trash can fire at the Croton Gorge Park. Croton Fire Department and Westchester County Police responded to the scene and extinguished the fire without incident.

January 22

4:57 PM: Officer on patrol responded to Duck Pond Park about a report of a stolen cell phone. On arrival and after further investigation, police officer arrested a 17-year-old Brewster, New York youth for unlawful possession of Marijuana, a violation. The youth was brought to Police HQ, charged and later released on his own recognizance to a family member and is due in Village Court on January 25, 2006 at 9:30 AM.
