A Lesson I Share...

Crotonblog: Letters to the Editor, Croton-on-Hudson, New York 10520
A word to the wise; learn from your mistakes; if burned once, dont let it happen again!

Yesterday, February 8, 2006, I posted a comment (see: “Let’s Continue Moving Croton Forward, Together”) under my pen name “weewill” and accidentally signed my name. As soon as I realized it, I contacted the blog staff and asked them to remove my signed name, which they did. As it turns out, the comment with my signature was already in email distribution by Croton GOP affiliate Robert Wintermeier. (Gotta be quick to beat him!)

So, without meaning to—I busted myself. I will continue to post, using my pen name “weewill” (search) because I believe what I have to say is important to the future of this Village—which I love so much.

Learn from my mistake and make sure you proofread your comments carefully before posting should you want to remain anonymous. And as always, keep in mind that more than 3,300 monthly unique visitors will read what you say.

Exactly what has Ms. Grant done that warrants an apology to Mr. Wintermeier, AKA Croton Taxpayer? Is Mr. Wintermeier saying that whoever did forward Ms. Grant’s posting, did something immoral, unethical, ilegal, or just plain nasty? I don’ think so, but if Mr. Wintermeir does, he should demand that the person apologize. Ms. Grant has done nothing wrong except make a harmless mistake.

Those of us who have lived in the Village for any period of time, have unfortunately had to live with Mr. Wintermeier’s neverending and baseless accusations against current and former Democratic officials—but this is really stretching it.

You have to be joking - Bob Wintermeier of all people, who posts erroneous information/facts frequently and NEVER apologizes, is demanding an apology! How shallow and two-faced can you be?

Ms. Grant is wrong about my distributing an email that identifies her as WeeWill. The email she refers to was sent to several individuals before being sent to me. I forwarded it to Ms. Grant after I removed the names of those who sent it to me with the the letters, FYI. I DID NOT FORWARD ANY EMAILS REGARDING HER MISTAKE!!!!

If she checks the Subject Header, she’ll see that it contains the following letters before the title:

fw: FW: FW: …………

which means she was the 3rd person to get the email and I was the second. There are other copies of her posting in existence that were copied before the blog deleted her name.

I expect an apology from Ms. Grant for posting her erroneous comments about me!

Robert Wintermeier
