Take it from Those Who Wore the Shoe
On Friday, February 10, 2006 at 7:30 PM, the Croton Free Library commemorates Black History month with, “Voices: Those Who Wore the Shoe.” Adapted and directed by Harlin C. Kearsley, this “staged documentary,” is based on actual slave narratives. Harlin C. Kearsley (One Life to Live, All My Children), and Bernadette Drayton (Law & Order) use many of “former slaves’” own words to present diverse characters in a live theatrical evening that also incorporates music, dance and archival photographs.
The Croton Free Library is located at 171 Cleveland Drive, Croton-on-Hudson, New York (map). Times and dates for this program and others are subject to change without notice. Please call the library at 914-271-6612 for more information.
