2:29 PM: New York City Police Department called Croton Police to report that they had recovered a stolen Jeep Cherokee taken on January 31, 2006. The vehicle was found parked and later towed off the street. The matter remains under investigation.
2:42 AM: There was a report of an accident on Albany Post Road where a vehicle struck a pole. Patrol responded to the scene and upon further investigation, arrested a 23-year-old male Croton-on-Hudson resident. The driver was brought to Police HQ and later released to a family member after posting $100.00 bail. The man is due in Village court on March 29, 2006 at 9:30 AM.
4:22 PM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay that at some time during the day someone entered his home and stole his computer. The matter is under investigation.
4:37 PM: There was a report of a brush fire on the Croton Gorge trail. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire without incident.
7:22 PM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay that at some time during the day, someone stole his son’s cell phone from a nearby bench while he was playing basketball. The matter is under investigation.
10:21 AM: Alarm company reported an activated fire alarm at building 14 on the Metro North property. MTA Police and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the alarm was accidentally set off by workers in the building.
6:01 PM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay drive that she had some food burning in her oven. Shortly thereafter the original call, the woman called back to report that the fire had been extinguished. Patrol responded to the scene to confirm that the residence was safe.
5:45 PM: There was a report of a ladder obstructing traffic on Route 9 South near the Croton River Bridge. Patrol responded to the scene and cleared the ladder from the roadway and called the NYSDOT to later remove it from the roadway.
6:37 AM: The custodian at CET reported that sometime over the weekend that damage had taken place to two vehicles owned by the school district. The damage included four slashed tires on one vehicle and one tire slashed on another. Later in the day, at 11:24 AM, the same caller notified police that fuel was also stolen from the tank of one of the vehicles. He also noted that there was damage done to some of the brick work on the school building.
7:52 PM: There was a report from a female student at Croton Harmon High School that her necklace was stolen. The matter is under investigation.
