Richard Pellicci: “Richard Pellicci, 65 Radnor Avenue. I too would like to thank Attorney Stecich for the brief. It was excellent. Um, I may go one step further because I’m the paranoid one in the bunch. Um, we all are on the same page? All the Trustees? Tom? Ann?”

Trustee Ann Gallelli: “It was an excellent brief, yes it was.”

Richard Pellicci: “No, not about the brief. Are we on the same page about not permitting us you know if they do God forbid come up again requesting a special permit?”

Village Attorney Marianne Stecich: “Could I just say the Board has to decide whether they (Regus/NIR) need a special permit until an application is before them, they can’t prejudge it. So, I think I would have to tell the Board not to (crosstalk) not to be difficult to you but I don’t think its appropriate to answer the questions.”

Richard Pellicci: “Yeah, but I mean its just a simple question. Yeah, yeah, no I’m just saying its a simple question, If we’re all on the same page.”

Trustee Ann Gallelli: “I think that Ms. Stecich just made a very valid and important legal point that any specific answer one way or the other now would be viewed in a later legal context of litigation as prejudging. So.”

One of the few positives about last year was that we did not have to listen to endless pontification from Maria Cudaquest - though her obsequient praise of the board majority was stomach-turning. Looks like she is on the move again, now that common sense is prevailing and I fear we are going to be subjected to her endless tunnel-visioned ravings as she again tries to push her minority opinion. What better audience to play to than a tv camera.

Ms. Grant: Thank you for reminding the blog staff to include the video clip of local activist group CCC1 (Concerned Citizens of Croton) leader Ms. Maria Cudequest (search) addressing the Village Board on May 1, 2006.

The sleeping beast has been awakened. Mr. Pellici and Ms. Cudequest’s remarks at last nights board meeting come close to being the most damaging ever. Let’s hope the attorneys for NIR weren’t listening. These self-appointed, self-annointed community watchdogs are treading on very thin ice. Public prejudgment of an applicaiton that hasn’t even come before the board for consideration is dangerous and a perfect example of how these irresponsible, self-serving know-it-alls do serious damage to the village position. Fortunately for us, Ms. Stechich stopped him in his tracks.

Thank God we have a board smart enough to proceed with caution and deliberation who will not be intimidated by a very few vocal individuals. This board is representative of all the residents of Croton, not just a few misinformed ones who think they have all the answers.

Pellicci would be laughable if he were not so pathetic. How can he—who ranted and raved at what people put on the “ridiculous” blog, because, I suspect, his friend Maria assures him that the blog is monitored by the NIR/Metro lawyers—expect the Board members to prejudge an application before it has even been submitted. Looks like campaign 2007 has already started. Pellicci, Cudaquest, Wintermieir and Minnett are going to make it a very long year.
