In what has become an established practice during the “reports” section of the regularly scheduled Village Board meetings, Trustee Thomas Brennan once again, on June 5th, predictably repeated his seemingly unchanged update about the progressive direction of his Community Center Advisory Committee.
According to Mr. Brennan—who set up this committee nearly a year ago—the volunteer group is preparing to survey residents about the merits of such a proposal sometime in the fall months of 2007.
To date, Trustee Brennan has neglected to share any important details about the proposal—a pillar of the Schmidt team’s 2005 election platform—like site locations, costs of such a project, utilization of existing public spaces like Croton’s recently renovated fire houses or consideration of leasing empty commercial property like the space previously occupied by ET Cycles (photo).
Trustee Thomas Brennan: “Ah, I wanna report that tomorrow night we are meeting again for the community center and we are really close to putting together our paperwork to get out—our questionnaires out to the people. I think, by fall we will have a survey out to the people to let them give their input about how they feel about what we’re gonna propose. You will have your opportunity to let your voice be heard on that situation.”
