July 10

6:40 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that sometime overnight someone tried to remove the rims and tires from her Honda Civic which was parked on Grand Street. The matter is under investigation.

8:05 PM: There was a report from a resident of Nordica Drive about a group of disorderly youths in the area around the Croton River. Patrol responded to the area and asked the group to leave the area.

July 11

3:49 PM: There was a report of a downed tree and power line on Ridge Road. Patrol, Croton FD and Con Edison responded to the scene to safeguard the area while repairs were being made.

3:52 PM: There was a report from a resident of Maple Street that there was smoke in his home. Patrol and Croton FD responded to the scene and determined the smoke, originating in his basement, came from a broken fan belt on his dryer.

6:13 PM: There was a report from a resident of Penfield Avenue that some time during past few days, two bicycles were stolen from his yard. The matter is under investigation.

July 12

2:23 PM: There was a report from a resident of Truesdale Drive that a village street tree limb had fallen on her car, causing damage. Patrol and Croton DPW responded to her home and cleared the debris from her property.

4:14 PM: There was a call from the Mount Pleasant Police Department for mutual aid after a tornado touched down in the area. Croton Police responded with two cars to assist with traffic control on Route 9A in the Thornwood.

8:05 PM: There was a report from a resident on Bungalow Road about a tree, telephone pole and wires down across the street. Patrol, Croton FD, Croton DPW, Croton Auxiliary Police, Verizon and Con Edison responded to safeguard the area while repairs were being made and clean up the remaining debris.

July 13

8:36 AM: There was a report from resident on Batten Road that sometime overnight three mailboxes were smashed. The matter is under investigation.

2:33 PM: There was report of a large tree down across Route 129 near the Water Department Pump House and East of Daley Drive. Patrol and DPW responded to the scene to abate traffic and clear the fallen debris.

7:38 PM: There was a report from a report from a Wells Avenue that sometime overnight a single license plate was stolen from his vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

July 14

7:21 PM: A Silver Lake Life Guard called to alert police that there were people swimming in the Croton River, west of Silver Lake, and reported that there were swimmers in distress. Patrol, Croton FD responded to the scene and upon arrival found the individuals in question to have safely made it to shore and thereby were not in need of medical attention.

July 15

1:07 AM: There was a report from a resident of Reinhardt Lane about a suspicious vehicle in the area that had previously been involved in a minor accident. The driver, a Croton youth, was arrested and brought to Police HQ, while his car was towed from the scene. The youth was subsequently released to a family member after posting $100.00 bail and is due in Village Court on July 26, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

11:12 PM: There was a report of a noisy group of youths in the basketball court at the intersection of Young Avenue and Benedict Boulevard. Patrol responded to the scene and asked the group to leave the area without incident.

July 16

8:35 AM: There was a report from a resident of Ekloff Court report that at sometime overnight someone threw eggs at his home. The matter is under investigation.

8:54 AM: There was a report from a resident of Penfield Avenue for assistance with a bird that was stuck in her window. Patrol responded and freed the bird and subsequently turned the injured over to an animal rehabilitator for care.

1:35 PM: There was a report from a resident of Truesdale Drive that the power line coming into his home was on fire. Patrol, Croton FD and Con Edison responded to the scene to extinguish the fire and fix the wire. There was no damage reported by the homeowner to the residence.

9:29 PM: MTA Police request assistance from Croton Police for a disorderly person on the train. No other information is available.

11:07 PM: There was a report from a resident of Morningside Drive that sometime recently someone left a large piece of metal on her car that subsequently scratched the paint. The matter is under investigation.
