It's All About Who You Sleep With... A Cautionary Note (to Hillary Clinton) from Michael Moore

August 9, 2006

Crotonblog: Letters to the Editor, Croton-on-Hudson, New York 10520
Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq (full news coverage) and who continues to support, in any way, this senseless, immoral, unwinnable war. Make no mistake about it: We, the majority of Americans, want this war ended—and we will actively work to defeat each and every one of you who does not support an immediate end to this war.

Nearly every Democrat set to run for president in 2008 is responsible for this war. They voted for it or they supported it. That single, stupid decision has cost us 2,592 American lives and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives. Lieberman and Company made a colossal mistake—and we are going to make sure they pay for that mistake. Payback time started last night.

I realize that there are those like Kerry and Edwards who have now changed their position and are strongly anti-war. Perhaps that switch will be enough for some to support them. For others, like me—while I’m glad they’ve seen the light—their massive error in judgment is, sadly, proof that they are not fit for the job. They sided with Bush, and for that, they may never enter the promised land.

To Hillary, our first best hope for a woman to become president, I cannot for the life of me figure out why you continue to support Bush and his war. I’m sure someone has advised you that a woman can’t be elected unless she proves she can kick ass just as crazy as any man. I’m here to tell you that you will never make it through the Democratic primaries unless you start now by strongly opposing the war. It is your only hope. You and Joe have been Bush’s biggest Democratic supporters of the war. Last night’s voter revolt took place just a few miles from your home in Chappaqua. Did you hear the noise? Can you read the writing on the wall?

To every Democratic Senator and Congressman who continues to back Bush’s War, allow me to inform you that your days in elective office are now numbered. Myself and tens of millions of citizens are going to work hard to actively remove you from any position of power.

If you don’t believe us, give Joe a call.

Michael Moore,

P.S. Republicans—sorry to leave you out of this letter. It’s just that our side has a little housecleaning to do. We’ll take care of you this November.

Dear Payman

Thanks for those insights.

Let’s make a little wager - if Lamont wins the general election I’ll buy you a jumbo Latte at the Black Cow, and if Lieberman wins you can buy me a Guinness.

Or vice versa if you prefer.

You know maybe Hillary did indeed vote for the war in Iraq. That is a fact. But at least after she got done smacking down that senile old sectary of war Rumsfeld last week on the hill - which she did an excellent job at by the way and literally left ol rummy speechless - she came out publicly the next day and admitted that she had made a mistake by voting for the war. Good for her. That is way more than bush or Cheney or rummy have ever done – they think and believe that they HAVE NEVER made a single mistake!!!!! What a travesty. In fact, they STILL THINK we are winning the war. And they also think that Iraq is not in a civil war. How out of touch they are.

A full 60% of AMERICANS not just democrats now believe the war was a colossal mistake. That is 60% of ALL Americans…… that is also a fact. It was humorously annoying to hear tony snow try to paint ned lamont’s victory as “bad for America” today as he spoke form the “western white house” in TX. I guess things are never bad enough to keep bush for vacationing!!!!!! Oh but it’s ok that he has destroyed the entire world order in just 6 short years…..take your vaca W, you’ve earned it!!

That is why Lieberman lost. He also lost because he disgustingly coddles the republicans and is their de facto democratic puppet. He was one of the first to cry for Bill Clinton’s impeachment for having sex with an intern and lying about it. where the hell has he been on the lies related to Iraq perpetrated by Cheney, rummy and the rest of the scary bunch from the Project for the New American Century crowd that has hijacked the foreign policy of our country in the name of a new world order which is ruled by violence and lies???? How about all of those poor kids serving our country with honor who are now dead or maimed from this so-called war? Where is Lieberman trying to get some justice for them? Too bad he wasn’t so vocal about impeaching bush and cheney for something more damaging to our world than getting a little nooky in the oval office. What a convenient self-serving hypocrite he is. Maybe bush will have a job for him in his lousy cabinet now.

Our neighbors in CT have spoken loud and clear. Shame on Lieberman for coming out today saying he will run on the independent ticket in November. He should just go away….he is just like bush and cheney except he’s worse because he is neocon in democrat’s clothes. Shame on him for being as corrupted by power as the crowd in the white house and for putting his own cause ahead of the people of Connecticut. He is a loser and CT confirmed it for him y’day.
