Some of the most talented stars will grace the stage at the 33rd annual Yiddish Music Festival Sunday, August 20, 2006, at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The festival features great entertainment starting at 4 p.m. with Sasha, a folk dancer, who will perform while leading the audience through traditional dances. Star of “Those Were the Days,” “On Second Avenue” and “Kids and Yiddish,” Joanne Borts is one of the many musical performers the concert will feature.
Also taking the stage will be Adrienne Cooper, an influential Yiddish artist along with Howard Leshaw, Bruce Adler and the event’s musical director, Zalmen Mlotek.
Admission and parking are free. Bring blankets or chairs for seating on the lawn.
The rain location will be the Beth El Synagogue, located on Northfield Road at North Avenue in New Rochelle.
The 33rd annual Yiddish Music Festival is presented by The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring and New York Region in cooperation with Westchester County Parks. Additional sponsorship has been provided by more than two dozen temples and Jewish community organizations from throughout Westchester.
The Kensico Dam Plaza is located in Valhalla at the north end of the Bronx River Parkway.
