August 8

6:56 PM: There was a report regarding a group of youth skateboarding in the area of the front steps at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School. Patrol responded to the scene had asked them to leave the area. The officer also advised the youths that skateboarding and trespassing are a crime.

August 9th

2:23 AM: There was a report from a resident of Hessian Hills regarding a suspicious car in the area. Patrol responded to the scene, located the vehicle and in the process of investigation subsequently charged a 17-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.

8:34 AM: A 34-year-old resident of Peekskill appeared at Police HQ in response to an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

8:43 AM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay that sometime that morning, someone broke a planting pot in front of his residence. The matter is under investigation.

August 10

4:27 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle traveling north on Route 9 for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon investigation, officer arrested the driver, a female resident of Ossining for driving without a license. The woman was brought to police HQ where she was arrested while her car was towed from the scene. Later, the woman was released and is due in Village Court at a date yet unspecified.

5:46 PM: There was a report from a resident of Daley Drive regarding a downed tree and electrical wires on the street. Patrol and Croton FD responded to the scene to safeguard the area while Con Edison made repairs.

5:59 PM: Officer on patrol arrested a 30-year-old Ossining man for driving without a license of Route 9 South. While officer was processing tickets for vehicle and traffic violations and driving without a license, a man in another vehicle, friendly to the man in the stopped car, drove his vehicle into oncoming traffic across four lanes to assist the Ossining man. The second man, a 27-year-old from Corlandt, was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct while obstructing motor vehicle traffic and traveling as a pedestrian on a limited access highway. Both men were brought to Police HQ, while their vehicles were towed from the scene. They were both subsequently released on $100.00 bail each and are due in Village Court on August 16, 2006, at 9:30 AM.

August 11

There was a report from a resident of Maple Street of a gas odor in her residence. Patrol and Croton FD responded to the scene and found that a knob on her stove that was in the on position was the source of the gas smell and subsequently shut it off.

August 12

2:02 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Maple Street and subsequently charged the driver, an 18-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson with DWI. One of the passengers, an 18-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson was charged with having an open alcoholic beverage container. The other passenger, a 25-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor with regard to the two 18-year-old’s possession of alcoholic beverages. After being taken to Police HQ, they were all released and are due in Village Court on August 23, 2006, at 9:30 AM.

12:38 PM: There was a report from a visually impaired woman residing on Maple Street that her seeing eye dog was missing. Patrol responded to the area and assisted in locating the dog.

10:15 PM: There was a report of a downed tree blocking passage of Stevenson Place. Patrol and DPW responded to the scene to clear the roadway.

August 13

1:04 PM: There was a report of an overturned canoe in the waters north of Croton Point Park. Croton FD responded to the area by boat and upon arrival found the three canoers had safely swam to shore. No injuries were reported.

4:41 PM: There was a report of a swimmer in distress in the waters north of Croton Point Park. Croton FD responded to the area by boat and upon arrival found that the man in distress had been pulled aboard the boat he swam from. On board was a paramedic from Rockland County who was performing CPR on the 76-year-old man from Suffern, New York. Croton FD transported the man to shore by boat where he was then transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital for treatment.

August 14

1:34 PM: There was a report of a loud dispute from a resident of Half Moon Bay. Patrol responded to the scene and upon found a resident who soon accused a 21-year-old woman from New York City of stealing $1,700 in cash from inside his residence. Officer located the woman in question and subsequently charged her with Third Degree Robbery and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, both felonies. Police brought the subject to HQ and was subsequently remanded to the Westchester County Jail with no bail.

4:00 PM: A man who came to Police HQ to help his friend retrieve a car that was impounded after she was charged with driving without a license, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a DWI charged in White Plains. Subsequently, Croton police held the man until officers from White Plains came to transport him to their facility.

11:06 PM: Officer on patrol charged a 55-year-old man from Cortlandt with driving with a suspended license. The man was brought to Police HQ where he was later released after posting $90.00 bail. The man is due in Village Court on August 23, 2006, at 9:30 AM.
