August 15

4:27 PM: Officer on patrol removed a section of tire from the area of Route 9 North near Croton Point Avenue.

9:10 PM: There was a report from a resident of Cook Lane about smoke in her home. Patrol and Croton FD responded to the scene and subsequently determined that the smoke originated from a neighbor’s BBQ grill.

August 16

9:16 AM: There was a report from a motorist about some debris on the road on Route 9 north near Senasqua Road. Patrol responded to the scene, moved the items from the roadway and subsequently contacted the NYSDOT to make a pick up.

9:40 AM: There was a report from a resident of Amber Drive about unauthorized use of a credit card. The matter is under investigation.

11:18 AM: There were several reports about a motorist near the intersection of North Riverside Avenue and Bank Street who accidentally struck a gas main on the side of a nearby building. Patrol, Croton FD and Con Edison responded to the scene to safeguard the area and fix the damage.

August 17

4:28 PM: Patrol and Croton FD responded to a fire alarm activation at the rectory at Holy Name of Mary Church and subsequently determined that spray painters nearby caused the alert.

August 18

8:58 AM: There was a report from a resident of North Riverside Avenue about neighboring construction workers tossing roofing materials on her property. Patrol responded to the scene and asked the workers to remove the debris from the caller’s yard.

12:12 PM: There was a report from an employee at Sav-More Pharmacy about a dispute with a customer who subsequently left the store without paying for merchandise. Patrol responded to the scene and encouraged the two parties to resolve their dispute without further incident.

August 19

1:59 AM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay about a suspicious car in the area. Patrol responded to the scene and upon investigation charged a 22-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The man was taken to Police HQ, was subsequently released and is due in Village Court on September 6, 2006, at 9:30 AM.

10:30 AM: There was a report from a resident of Penfield Avenue that sometime overnight her vehicle, parked in front of her residence, was egged. The matter is under investigation.

12:05 PM: There was a report of debris in the roadway on Route 9 south near Montrose. Patrol responded to the scene and moved the items to the side of the road.

12:42 PM: There was a report from the OnStar service about child locked in a car on Grand Street. Patrol responded to the scene and assisted the child’s mother by gaining access to the vehicle.

August 20

4:45 PM: Officer on patrol reported graffiti and Con Edison equipment opposite the Croton Commons shopping plaza. The matter is under investigation.

4:47 PM: Park Ranger on patrol reported graffiti in the area of Croton Landing Park. Police referred the matter to the Croton DPW for clean up while the incident remains under investigation.

9:40 PM: There was a report of a group of individuals on Spencer Field. Patrol responded to the scene and asked the group to leave the area as they were trespassing. August 21

12:10 AM: There was a report of a tree leaning against electrical wires in the area of Albany Post Road and Warren Road. Patrol and Con Edison responded to the scene to safeguard the area and cut the tree.

4:49 PM: Patrol and Croton FD responded to a fire alarm activation the Danish Home for the Aged on Quaker Bridge Road. Upon investigation, the caused of the alert was not determined.

5:03 PM: Officer on patrol pulled over a motorist on Croton Point Avenue for vehicle and traffic violations. In the course of investigation, officer charged the driver, a 24-year-old Ossining woman with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree. The woman was brought to Police HQ, where she was later released on $250.00 bail and is due in Village Court at a future date.
