August 22

1:41 PM: Officer on patrol reported that someone wrote graffiti on the police call box in the area of Croton Point Avenue and Veteran’s Plaza. The matter is under investigation.

3:13 PM: There was a report from park employees that there were people swimming in the no-swim area of the park and refused to get out of the water when asked. When patrol arrived at the scene, that party in question left the area.

10:10 PM: There was a report from a resident of Maple Street that some time during the evening someone slashed a tire on his car while parked on the street in front of his residence. The matter is under investigation.

August 23

2:10 PM: County Fire Control called for mutual aid from the Croton FD Marine Unit regarding a boat fire at the Cortlandt Yacht Club on Kings Ferry Road in Montrose.

August 24

3:26 PM: There was a report from a resident of Morningside Drive that sometime during the pervious few days her house was “egged”. The matter is under investigation.

August 25

6:34 AM: There was a report from a resident of North Riverside Avenue that sometime overnight someone threw two glass bottles full of paint on his driveway and sidewalk. The matter is under investigation.

11:15 AM: There was a report from a resident of Briggs Lane that she found some empty paint cans and some spilled paint on the side of the road.

9:51 PM: There was a report from the owner of a building on North Riverside Avenue that during the process of renovating the premises, she discovered that some items are missing. The matter is under investigation.

August 26

8:46 PM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay about a strong odor of natural gas. Patrol, Croton FD and Con Edison responded to the scene to remedy the concern.

11:08 PM: There was a report from a resident of Morningside Drive that someone just threw eggs at her home. The matter is under investigation.

August 28

3:13 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a car for motor vehicle and traffic violations. Officer subsequently arrested a 45-year-old female resident of Yonkers for DWI, criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and other traffic violations. The woman’s car was impounded, she was brought to Police HQ where she was arraigned and bail was at $200.00. Shortly thereafter, the woman was transported to the Westchester County Jail and is due in Village Court on September 13, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

11:58 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that gunshot noises were heard in the area. Patrol responded to the scene and was unable to confirm the reported concern.

August 29

1:29 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a car on Mt. Airy Road and Grand Street. As a result of the traffic stop, the driver, a 17-year-old male resident of Cortlandt was charged with, as a junior driver operating a motor vehicle after 9:00 PM. The passenger, also a 17-year-old male resident of Cortlandt, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, a felony. The passenger was brought to Police HQ, where he was later remanded to the Peekskill Jail overnight. Subsequently the male was brought back to Croton Police HQ, where he was arraigned and released on $2,500 bail. Both young men are due in Village Court on September 6, 2006 at 9:30 AM.
