On Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 8:00 AM, Naturalist Anne Swaim will lead a walk through the beautiful grounds of Van Cortlandt Manor along the Croton River, including the historic orchard and garden. An optional 18th century breakfast and tour of the manor house follows. The bird walk alone is free for Historic Hudson Valley and Saw Mil Audubon Society members; $4 for all others.
Van Cortlandt Manor (satellite map) is located on the banks of the Croton River on South Riverside Avenue off Route 9 in the village of Croton-on-Hudson and is accessible by car, boat, or train. By car, take Route 9 to the Croton Point Avenue exit. Turn east at end of exit ramp; turn right at traffic light onto South Riverside Avenue. Continue to end of South Riverside Avenue.
