September 4

6:47 PM: There was a report from the manager from Shop Rite Supermarket about an incident of shoplifting. Patrol responded to the scene and arrested a 46-year-old male resident of Carmel for Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree. The man was brought to Police HQ and arraigned by the judge. Bail was set at $250.00 bail. He was later transported to the Westchester County Jail and is due back in Village Court on September 6, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

September 5

10:58 AM: There was a report from the custodian at the PVC Middle School about damage to the windshield of a district vehicle which was parked in the lot. The matter is under investigation.

September 6

3:30 AM: Officer on patrol witnessed a dozen Croton youths putting toilet paper on the CHHS property. Officer instructed to the youths in question to clean up the area and disperse. Croton Youth Officer will follow up with the school regarding the incident.

12:33 PM: There was fire alarm activation from a resident on Teatown Lake Road. Croton FD responded to the scene and determined that the cause of the alarm was from burnt food.

5:49 PM: Patrol stopped a car for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, officer arrested a 19-year-old youth from Montrose for DWAI and possession of Marijuana, a violation. The man was brought to Police HQ, later released on his own recognizance and is due in Village Court on September 13, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

September 7

8:00 PM: There was a report from a Croton resident that while his painting truck was parked near Bethel Cemetery, two ladders were stole from his vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

September 9

2:37 PM: There was a report from a contractor who was hired to clean out a garage on Grand Street, that while they were working they found a military-style rocket. Subsequently, the contractor called Police HQ. Patrol responded to the scene and transported the rocket to HQ. Shortly thereafter, the Westchester County Bomb Squad arrived to take it away for analysis and disposal.

6:30 PM: There was a call for assistance from Ossining Police about a boat in distress on the Hudson River, just south of Croton Point Park. Croton FD responded to the scene with the fire boat but on arrival found that Westchester County Police had already arrived and provided assistance.

September 10

7:25 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a 34-year-old resident of Croton who was urinating on the sidewalk. When asked by police for identification, the man produced a fraudulent ID card. The man was arrested Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, a felony. He was brought to Police HQ, arraigned by the judge and later transported to Westchester County Jail without bail. The man is due back in Village court on September 13, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

September 11

1:31 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon investigation, officer arrested a 60-year-old resident of Croton for DWI and other vehicle and traffic violations. The man was transported to Police HQ, his car was towed, he was later released on his own recognizance to a friend and is due in Village Court on September 27, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

7:39 AM: There was report from a resident of North Riverside Avenue that sometime during the weekend while her car was parked on the street, one of here windows has broken. The matter is under investigation.
