4:15 PM: There was a report from a resident of North Riverside Avenue that some personal checks were missing. Subsequent to investigation and on September 13, 2006, Croton Police arrested a 36-year-old male resident of Croton with Third Degree Forgery, Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument and Petit Larceny—all misdemeanors. The man was brought to Police HQ, later released on his own recognizance and is due in Village Court at a later date.
8:12 AM: There was a report from a resident of Young Avenue about a natural gas odor in the area. Patrol, Croton FD responded to the scene and safeguarded the area until Con Edison arrived to remedy the complaint.
7:30 PM: There were many calls to Police HQ regarding the night-time testing of the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plants emergency alert test. The testing signal consisted of a on-toned siren that droned for a duration of four-minutes.
11:03: There was a report of smoke inside Sofia’s Restaurant on South Riverside Avenue> Patrol and Croton FD responded to the scene and determined that the smoke was caused from burned food.
8:53 AM: There was a report from a passerby of smoke coming from the side of the road. Patrol responded to the scene and determined that a downed wire had started a small brush fire. Officer summoned Croton FD and Con Edison to the area to extinguish the burning grass and repair the wire.
3:21 PM: There was a report from resident from Pleasantville resident that while his car was parked in front the Justin Thyme restaurant, his car was “keyed.” Patrols responded to the scene to asses the damage and file a report. The matter is under investigation.
1:30 PM: There was a report from a resident of White Plains who is also an employee at Shop Rite on South Riverside Avenue called to report that her purse was stolen from the front of the store. The matter is under investigation.
3:18 PM: There was a report of a burglary at a residence on Harrison Street. Police report that the owner of the house was approached by two males who offered tree cutting services. When the homeowner escorted one of the persons in question to the backyard, the other entered the hoe and stole some cash. The matter is under investigation.
12:25 PM: There was a report of an individual trespassing on a residence on Lark Lane. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate the party in question. The matter is under investigation.
8:20 PM: There was a report of a dispute between two males in the recreational vehicle camping section at Croton Point Park. Patrol responded to the scene, dispatched Westchester County Police, but upon arrival the two persons in question were gone. Westchester County Police will continue an investigation.
9:38 PM: There was a report from a resident of Brook Street that at some time during the evening while his car was parked in front of his house, the driver’s side window was broken. The matter is under investigation.
