In response to a letter written from Mr. Bruce M. Kauderer (see: “Settle with Regus, LLC on a Favorable Basis for the Village of Croton,” October 3, 2006)
As a resident living near Champion City Recovery, LLC in Brockton, Massachusetts, and I speak for many we would gladly prefer instead of Champion City Recovery, LLC the following: Low Income housing, Prison Complex, Millenium Pipeline, large drug treatment facility, Nuclear Electrical Plant or a multitude of other facilities anything would be better than a Transfer Station of this caliber as Champion City Recovery.
Three years ago only a few thousand people living in a 5 mile radius of the Champion Site complained others said it was to far way from them, a few more trucks on a busy road anyway, it would bring much needed revenue to the city etc… Now all residents in the area over 100,000 of them are complaining because in fact in one way or another it does impact them in Road Repair/Road Taxes, property taxes/City legal fees and other costs.
Not to mention while hard working, tax paying, law abiding citizens are struggling and adhering to the Water Restrictions the same Champion City Waste Company is caught stealing millions of gallons of City Water while illegaly tapping into a Fire Hydrant thus also putting public safety at risk.
