John Hall to President Clinton: Thank You...

November 1, 2006

Crotonblog: Letters to the Editor, Croton-on-Hudson, New York 10520
Yesterday (October 30, 2006) was an amazing day. President Clinton joined me at our inspiring “Rally for Change,” as so many of you have joined me since I announced my candidacy for Congress (see video below).

Over 1,000 of us packed our meeting hall so full that we spilled out into the halls. Hundreds of you volunteered for our GOTV effort. If this momemtum inspires you as much as it inspires me, please, join us today by volunteering or making a donation.

You and I know that this campaign should be based not on negative ads, but on issues. Issues like the war in Iraq. As President Clinton pointed out, its time for new leadership to stand up to the failed policies of the Bush administration. President Clinton praised our campaign, because we are focused on human interests, not special interests. While you and thousand like you have helped move this campaign forward with individual donations, my opponent has been funded by millions of dollars from big oil, drug companies and lobbyists.

Every recent poll has shown that this race is neck and neck. And while you and I know we can win, I need your support to promote our message of change and make it through the finish line. If you were waiting for the right time to contribute, there is no better time than right now.

If you have given in the past to bring us to where we are today, I thank you very much. But I have to ask you to stretch a little bit more. A $100 contribution today will sponsor one of our TV ads. Even $50 or $25 will help take us home to victory.

I would like to thank all of you, along with President Clinton, for making today such a success. Let’s ride this momentum to the finish line!

Thank you,

John Hall

I am on business in California, so it’s great to be able see what happened yesterday back in the Hudson Valley so easily on the Blog with YouTube. Bill Clinton’s 3 minute pep talk for John Hall is pure genius for the folksy metaphors that paint the reality of this fall’s election. I am sorry I missed the rally, but getting it over the web is the next best thing!

So what did John Hall say to follow Clinton? Did Bill and John sing a duet—as on the Colbert report?

Cheers from San Diego! Leo
