The group of visual artists known as EYE will be performing at Rutheny’s Brook Street Gallery on Saturday December 2, 2006 at 7:30 PM. The event will include a painting performance, silent auction, and live music. Working spontaneously, they will use various painting, drawing, and collage materials to improvise a collaborative artwork consisting of 24 individual canvases mounted together to form one large work of art.

The 24 individual canvases will be auctioned off in a silent auction the evening of the performance. Opening bid is $100 each. The following day, the large artwork will be dismantled so that buyers may pick up their purchase. 50% of the purchase price will be contributed to Croton Harmon Education Foundation (CHEF).

Improvisational vocal and instrumental music from Edie Ellis, Steve Schiller & Friends will be a spontaneous, harmonic conversation between the musicians, artists and audience.

Rutheny’s Brook Street Gallery is located at 80 Brook Street, Croton on Hudson, New York 10520 and can be reached by phone at 914-271-0980.

“EYE” is Chuck Davidson, Marcy B. Freedman, Ed Radford, Richard Rosenbaum, Alexi Rutsch, Francesca Samsel, Rob Shepperson, and Tom Smith.

I think Jen Rutheny has done for the croton art scene what the Black Cow did 10 years ago for creative small business……Brook St. would be an awsome art corrider in the village..great old buildings, lots of wonderful potential…in the meantime definately check out the events at Jen Ruthenys gallery…great people showing and creating great art….very cool “happenings”……..

It is so refreshing to see what an asset Rutheny’s Brook Street Gallery is becoming for the Croton Community. Thank you Jennifer!
