Croton Police Blotter - Week of December 18th

December 18
5:01 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street about some money missing from her home. The matter is under investigation.
December 19
10:44 AM: Alarm company reported an activated water alarm at one of the Metro-North railroad buildings. Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that a forklift had hit one the sprinklers and subsequently set off the fire alarm.
December 20
12:34 PM: Alarm company reported an activated smoke alarm at one of the Metro-North railroad buildings. Croton Fire Department responded top the scene but was unable to determine why the alarm was set off.
December 23
1:20 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that while she at the Van Wyck Shopping Center parking lot, she accidentally locked her child in the car. Patrol responded to the scene and gained access to the car without incident.
December 24
3:35 PM: There was a report from an employee of Dunkin Donuts of a larceny of money. The matter is under investigation.
December 26
1:30 PM: There was a report from the Croton Recreation Department that someone recently applied graffiti to a lamppost near the “Crossining” Bridge on Route 9. The matter is under investigation.
December 28
11:06 AM: There was a report from a citizen about a deer stuck inside the fenced-in area surrounding Spencer Field. Patrol responded to the scene and was able to direct the deer out of the field area.
December 30
8:55 AM: There was a report from a resident of Arrowcrest Drive that sometime overnight her house was “egged”. The matter is under investigation.
11:19 AM: There was a report from a resident of Hastings Avenue that sometime overnight several cars in the area were “egged”. The matter is under investigation.
10:10 PM: Officer on patrol reported that additional graffiti had been applied to a railing near the “Crossining” Bridge on Route 9. The matter is under investigation.
December 31
10:53 AM: There was a report from a resident of Lexington Drive that sometime overnight one the tires on her car was slashed while it was it parked on the street in front of her house. Patrol responded to the scene and determined that four other cars in the area also had flattened tires. The matter is under investigation.
1:56 PM: There was a report from a resident of Cleveland Drive that sometime overnight the windshield on his car was broken while it was parked on the street in front of his house. The matter is under investigation.
9:18 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street about odor coming from their heater. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and turned off the gas, checked the premises and later deemed the area safe.
January 1
12:40 AM: Officer on patrol reported that upon approaching a large group of youths on Grand Street in the Upper Village, they ran off into the night. Upon further investigation officer discovered that several of the small Christmas trees in planters had been taken. The matter is under investigation.
