And so, according to reports out of Schenectady, New York, where Nick attends Union College as a freshman, he having quite a successful season in his team position as a guard. While his team, The Dutchman, hold a 2-0 record in the Liberty League, 5-7 overall, his play is being described as “torrid.”
In a game held last Friday, January, 12, 2007, Nick scored 26 points with five assists and five rebounds—helping to lead Union to a 79-76 men’s basketball win at Rensselaer’s Robison Gym. Overall, Nick scored 14 points in a first half in which the Dutchmen had a 45-40 advantage, made 10 of 14 shots from the floor and four of five from three-point land. Additionally, he was awarded this week’s Liberty League Rookie of the Week, as a result of scoring 59 points in his last three games and has hit 20 of his last 34 shots (59%).
In a game closer to home, Nick and his teammates from Union will travel to Poughkeepsie on Saturday, January 20, 2007 for a match-up against Vassar.
