The Village of Croton-on-Hudson Recreation & Parks Department recently announced that it will be hosting a six-hour defensive driving program for licensed drivers through the New York State Safety program, taught by Jack Coxen.
Upon successful completion of this two-night course—set for both Wednesdays, February 28th & March 7th, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM—drivers can expect that four points will be reduced from the driving record point total. In addition, if the participant is listed as a principle operator on an auto insurance policy, a 10% discount on collision and liability will be applied for a full three years when the broker is presented with the course completion certificate.
According to the village website, registration for the course will be accepted until February 23, 2007, while enrollment will be limited to ensure a quality program. Therefore, those interested should register early by completing and returning the application form with payment by mail to the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Recreation Department at 1 Van Wyck Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520.
