Duck Pond Park Opens for Ice Skating Today
The Village of Croton-on-Hudson Department of Parks and Recreation has just announced that, “The Duck Pond is now opened today, February 6th, 2007, for skating until 9:00 PM tonight.”
In an email sent to residents, the village notes that “A green flag on the pole at the pond indicates that the ice is safe,” while “A red flag indicates it is unsafe and skating is not permitted.” And with continued cold temperatures forecast for the next several days, the Recreation Department will continue to check the ice at Duck Pond Park (map) and they ask that residents please observe the flags before skating.
