The Croton Winds Woodwind Ensemble Performs Saturday
Despite Friday’s stormy weather, March winds are going to blow sweetly at the Croton Free Library on Saturday, March 3, 2007. Beginning at 7:30 PM, in the Ottinger Room, the Croton Harmon Winds and the Sunday Sextet will present music for woodwind ensemble—by Paul Taffanel, Franz Danzi, Darius Milhaud and Adrien Barthe.
And, of special interest is the program’s finale—the rarely heard Divertissement for Wind Instruments by Emile Bernard—which calls for 10 players (flutes, french horns, bassoons, clarinets, oboes) and the combined forces of both groups. Come enjoy an evening of music performed by talented local artists.
The Croton Free Library is located at 171 Cleveland Drive and can be reached by calling 914-271-6612 or visiting their website, www.crotonfreelibrary.org.
