Croton Caring Committee Begins Food Drive
The Croton Caring Committee has begun its food drive to prepare baskets of food for the Easter holiday which will be delivered on April 4, 2007. During this Lenten Season, they invite local residents to remember those in our community who need our help in providing for their families.
The committee needs groceries, including canned and dry items—varieties of cereals, pasta, canned soups, vegetables, fruit and tuna; coffees, teas, juices, peanut butter and jelly too. These items may be dropped off on the patio of 38 Penfield Avenue, at donors convenience, on or before Saturday, March 31, 2007. Additionally, donations of fresh and canned hams, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and dairy products will be accepted on Monday, April 2, and Tuesday, April 3, 2007. They also hope that donors will help them by taking advantage of any food coupons available through the supermarkets.
The Caring Committee also welcomes the help of preschool and gradeschool children, Church and Temple members, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and individual families to assist them with this food collection. For answers to questions regarding the food drive or for more details, please call Anne Kennedy, Executive Director, Croton Caring Committee at 914-271-4979.
