Candidate Konig Implicates Self in Gallelli Driveway Plowing Smear
DATE: Monday evening, March 19, 2007
TIME: 6:45 PM
PLACE: Croton train station
Crotonblog hears that the following conversation took place between Ann Gallelli and Susan Konig this evening related to the “More Lies from Croton’s Alliance Party” post reported earlier.
ANN GALLELLI: “Susan, I know you are the one who was telling people on Maple Street that the village plowed my driveway.”
SUSAN KONIG: “What makes you say that?”
ANN GALLELLI: “Because three people called and told me you were saying that to them.”
SUSAN KONIG (smirking): “So what are you going to do? Sue me?”
Voters can draw their own conclusions from this exchange about Susan Konig’s qualifications to serve as a sworn officer of this village.

Assuming the facts are as stated, this is clearly defamation and it is actionable. I hope that Ms. Galleli sues Ms. Konig. All that is needed is to prove that a knowingly false statement was made in public with the intent to damage the other person’s reputation.
Based upon what is reported here, the only question would be whether Ms. Konig knew this information was false. To the extent that can be proven, Ms. Konig has reason to fear. She could lose her house and all her assets in damages. Ms. Konig would be better suited spending her time tomorrow hiring a lawyer rather than campaigning.
It appears the audacity and stupidity of these people has finally caught up with them. What goes around comes around and the proverbial sh*t is about to hit the fan.
Reply to this CommentI commented in an earlier post that I didn’t think I could be shocked by anything said or printed days before a village election.
I was wrong.
Susan Konig’s sneak attack and blatant lie about Ann Gallelli and our Department of Public Work employees is contemptible to be sure.
But even more outrageous and shocking is Ms. Konig’s snide reaction when she was confronted.
It appears she plays games with the truth and takes no responsibility for the consequences.

Reply to this CommentI guess this is another one of those lies it is OK to tell - your children, your friends, your future constituents (?!). I seem to remember that Ms. Konig was involved on the lies that were spread about Ann Galleli on election day last year. Is this the type of trustee we want???
