March 26

4:02 PM: There was a report from a resident of Scarsdale that while his car was parked in the ShopRite parking lot on South Riverside Avenue, two parking light lenses were stolen from the vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

March 27

3:39 PM: There was a report from a resident of Alexander Lane about an injured deer on her property. Patrol responded to the scene, destroyed the animal and subsequently notified Croton DPW to pick up the remains.

5:32 PM: There was a report from a resident of Penfield Avenue about a sick raccoon on her property. Patrol responded to the scene, destroyed the animal and subsequently notified Croton DPW to pick up the remains.

March 28

3:00 PM: Croton detectives arrested a 25-year-old male resident of Verplanck for 2 counts Criminal Trespass and one count of Petit Larceny for past incidences that occurred at a residence on Scenic Drive. The man was brought to police HQ where he was arraigned by the judge who set bail at $1,500. Shortly thereafter, the man was brought to the Westchester County Jail and is due back in village court on April 4, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

9:29 PM: There was a report from a resident of Radnor of gas in her home. Patrols and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the cause for the call was a spilled can on gasoline in the basement.

March 29

3:00 PM: There was a report from a resident of Croton of some graffiti that was applied to the walkway/bikepath that goes under the Half Moon Bay bridge off Elliot Way. The matter is under investigation.

March 30

7:43 AM: There was a report from a resident of Quaker Bridge Road that sometime during the day while her car was parked on Maple Street, the side view mirror was damaged. The matter is under investigation.

4:30 PM: There was a report by one of the involved parties that sometime during the day on Old Post Road South in front of Croton Harmon High School he was assaulted by another student. The matter is under investigation.

6:27 PM: County fire control requested mutual aid from the Croton Fire Department to responded to a fire in Yorktown. Croton FD responded by sending one truck to stand by.

March 31

1:04 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Route 9 South for Vehicle and Traffic Violations. Upon investigation, officer arrested the driver, a 23-year-old male resident of Ossining with DWI, False Personation and other Vehicle and Traffic Violations. The man’s car was towed from the scene, he was brought to Police HQ where he was processed and later released to a friend after posting $250.00 bail. The defendant is due back in village court on April 4, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

April 1

2:03 PM: There was a report of someone spray painting the words “child molester” on the pavement of Young Avenue. Patrol responded to the scene and after conducting an investigation arrested a 37-year-old female resident of Croton for Making Graffiti, Possession of a Graffiti Instrument and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. The woman was brought to Police HQ where she was processed and released on her own recognizance and is due back in village court on April 4, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

10:12 PM: There was a report from a resident of Sunset Trail that while his car was parked during the on Benedict Boulevard the rear window of his car was broken. The matter is under investigation.

April 2

1:10 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that someone on the street was burning papers in their yard. Patrol responded to the scene and told the resident that they cannot open burn in the village.

I was there right after it and i was suprised to see cars driving by and not noticing what was going on. It happened around 4 hours before the report and the guy was laying on the ground with his nose bleeding for 20 minutes. When he got up alot of cars were still driving by with their drivers looking the other way at the guys bloody nose. Im glad this got reported so quickly considering how many kids don’t want to get involved in these matters, but it may of been someone who had heard about this on the grapevine.
