April 9

2:43 PM: Detectives arrested a 22-year-old male resident of Croton for two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Cocaine, a felony. The man was arrested, brought to Police HQ, appeared before the judge and bail was set at $15,000. Unable to post the bail, the man was transported to the Westchester County jail. On April 11, 2007 the man returned to Village Court where bail was set to $3,000. After posting bail, the man was released and is due in court at a later date. This arrest was the result of a five-month investigation by Croton Detectives. More arrests are expected.

April 12

9:55 AM: There was a report of smoke coming from the pump house on Arrowcrest Drive. Patrol, Croton Fire department and Water Department responded to the scene to investigate the call.

10:00 AM: There was a report a fire alarm activation at a residence on Albany Post Road. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene to investigate.

10:46 AM: Detectives arrested a 50-year-old resident of Croton for three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Cocaine, a felony. The man was arrested, brought to Police HQ, appeared before the judge and bail was set at $1,000. After posting bail, the man was released and is due in court at a later date. This arrest was the result of a five-month investigation by Croton Detectives. More arrests are expected.

1:35 PM: There was a report about rocks that had fallen into the roadway on Route 129 near Harrison Street. Patrol responded to the scene and cleared the roadway.

April 13

11:49 AM: There was a report of a gas leak on Harrison Street. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and stood by until Con Edison arrived to fix the leak.

5:54 PM: There was a report of a large boulder that rolled into the roadway from a nearby embankment. Patrol responded to the scene and subsequently notified the DPW to move the rock.

April 14

4:00 AM: Patrol responded to a call from a residence at Half Moon Bay. Upon investigation, officer arrested two persons, a 29-year-old male resident of Croton and a 24-year-old female resident of Palm Coast, Florida for shooting a .22 caliber rifle from their patio. The couple was arrested with Discharging a Firearm in the Village, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, a misdemeanor, and the Environmental Conservation of Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. Both persons were arrested, transported to Police HQ where they were subsequently released after posting $200 in bail each. They are due in Village Court on April 25, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

9:18 AM: On Route 9 North, by the Croton River Bridge, there was a report of debris in the roadway. Patrol responded to the scene and removed the wooden material from the road.

9:27 AM: There was a report from a resident of the Town of Cortlandt that while she was shopping at ShopRite, someone stole her purse from her carriage. Patrol responded to the scene to investigate. Later in the day, the purse was recovered with money missing.

April 14

6:45 PM: MTA Police requested assistance with a disorderly person arriving on a northbound train.

April 15

12:20 AM: There was a report from resident of Hillside Avenue about a loud and disorderly group of youths in the neighborhood. Patrol responded to the scene and found that the group was dispersing from a nearby party and asked them to leave the area.

12:40 PM: There was a report from resident of Prospect Place about a loud and disorderly group of youths in the neighborhood. Patrol responded to the scene and found that the group was dispersing from a nearby party and asked them to leave the area.

3:41 PM: There was a report of roadway flooding on Albany Post Road blocking the road. Patrol responded to the scene and called the DPW to place barricades in the area.

4:32 PM: There was a report of roadway flooding on Upper North Highland Place blocking the road. Patrol responded to the scene and called the DPW offer assistance.

7:49 PM: There was a report of rocks in the roadway from a nearby embankment in the area Maple Street and Grand Street. Patrol responded to area and cleared the road.

11:45 PM: There was a report from a resident on North Riverside Avenue about smoke in her apartment. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the smoke was caused by water damage.

April 16

2:35 AM: There was a request from County Fire Control for mutual aid. Croton Fire Department responded by sending equipment to the Village of Mamaroneck.

5:10 AM: The water department foreman reported that he was trapped at the village water pump house by rising waters. The foreman, Tom Brann, was working overnight in response to an automation failure. The Croton Dive Team responded to the scene with their inflatable rescue boat and retrieved Mr. Brann from the facility and delivered him to dry land without incident.
