June 4

3:28 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Grand Street for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, police arrested an 18-year-old male resident of Ossining for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, and other vehicle and traffic violations. The man was brought to police HQ where he was later released on his own recognizance and is due in village court on June 6, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

10:29 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that while she was walking her dogs she encountered a coyote. After she yelled at the coyote—the animal ran-off.

June 5

10:56 AM: There was a report from a resident of Finney Farm Road about a gas smell in her home. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the source of the odor was a heater/boiler malfunction.

2:45 PM: There was a report from a resident of Sunset Drive about an injured deer on his property. Patrol responded to the scene and destroyed the animal.

June 6

7:30 AM: There was a report of an injured turtle on the road. Patrol responded to the scene and destroyed the reptile and summoned DPW to remove its remains.

10:39 AM: County Fire Control requested mutual aid from Croton Fire Department for a gas like Scenic Drive in the Amberlands apartment complex.

2:39 PM: There was a report about smoke in a building on South Riverside Drive. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the smoke originated from a faulty piece of computer equipment.

5:43 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a car for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, police arrested a 40-year-old resident of Ossining for Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, a felony. The man was brought to police HQ where he was arraigned by the judge, later released after posting $5,000 bail, and is due in village court on June 13, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

7:01 PM: There was a report about an open fire at a construction site on Mt. Airy Road. Patrol responded to the scene and had the responsible party extinguish the fire.

8:35 PM: There was a report from a Croton-on-Hudson resident that some time during the previous day while his car was parked on Maple Street; someone stole his parking permit for the Croton-Harmon train station parking lot. The matter is under investigation.

June 8

3:46 PM: There was a report about numerous people at Mayo’s Landing. Patrols responded to the scene and determined that all of the people gathered in the area had either Village of Croton-on-Hudson park passes or a NYS fishing permits.

5:23 PM: Officer on patrol arrested a 25-year-old male resident of Verplanck on Lark Lane for Burglary 2nd Degree, a felony, and violating an order of protection. The man was brought to police HQ where he was arraigned by the judge, bail was set at $15,000, transferred to the Westchester County Jail and his is due in village court on June 13, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

June 9

12:18 AM: Police arrested a 28-year-old male resident of Croton for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. The man was immediately transferred to the Peekskill Jail. The next day, he was arraigned by the judge, released after posting $5,000 bail and is due in village court on June 13, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

June 10

11:22 AM: There was a report of some burning debris at a residence on Brook Street. Patrol responded to the scene and had the responsible party extinguish the fire.

June 11

12:25 PM: There was a report from a resident of Peekskill that sometime during the previous week; her wallet had been stolen from her car while it was parked in the parking lot at the Croton Diner. The matter is under investigation.
