The Simpsons Movie Comes to Life at New York City Kwik-E-Mart
July 30, 2007Moviegoers forked over $71.9M over the weekend to see the The Simpson’s Movie in theaters across the county. Said, Chris Aronson, senior vice president for distribution at 20th Century Fox. “It far exceeded even the most optimistic of expectations.”
And the marketing and promotion leading up to the movie’s premier certainly helped. In fact, one of the most ingenious in the campaign was dressing a number of 7-Eleven stores around the country as Kwik-E-Marts, the fictional convenience stores selling such Simpsons’ favorites as Buzz Cola and Squishees.
So, if New Yorkers did not get enough of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart & Maggie Simpson, and wish to experience life in Springfield first-hand, they are indeed lucky. Located on West 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues is a converted Kwik-E-Mart.
