George W. Bush Visits Iraq, Keith Olbermann Comments

September 6, 2007

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann offered a special comment Tuesday on President Bush’s visit to Iraq. “He is back from his annual, surprise, gratuitous, photo op in Iraq, and what a sorry spectacle it was,” said Olbermann. “But it was nothing compared to the spectacle of one unfiltered, unguarded, horrifying quotation in the new biography.”

1) Although this is not Croton politics, National Politics are going to have a big effect when it comes to the future of Croton. The Iraq War is diverting our attention from the real fight against terrorism and alot of Croton’s citizens work in the terrorism target of NYC. Therefore this entry is relevant to Croton.

2) Although Partisan Bickering is a big problem in government, i would say the biggest reason that our government can’t seem to accomplish anything is that People who get elected are better at running in elections than they are at being a leader.

3) Your right that both parties have flaws, however the party differences in policy could not be more clear than they are today. If you ask what the biggest threat to the American Family is Today, Republicans would say “Family Values” and the Democrats would say the destruction of the middle class. If you ask about what we should do about Global Warming, The Republicans would say we don’t know enough yet and this is probably just a natural cycle, and the Democrats would say that we need to reduce the amount of Greenhouse Grass.

4) Your right in that is good when both parties work together, however there are many things that both parties agree on that they are both wrong on such as Getting us into Iraq, NAFTA, No Child Left Behind, The Patriot Act, Opposing Gay Marriage, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, Many Aspects of The War On Drugs, etc. However many good ideas have Bi-Partisan Support Such as Head Start, Stafford Student Loans, The National Park System, The Minimum Wage, Medicare, Medicaid, The Interstate Highway System, etc.

What does this have to do with Croton? I really enjoy the entries on this blog that are relevant to Croton, but the republican=bad democrat=good entries are such a turnoff. Party bias on either side is the biggest reason that our government can’t seem to accomplish anything. This is true on a local, state and federal level. Read and you will see that both parties need some serious lessons in honesty and integrity. It’s high time to stop drinking both red and blue kool aid, and start working together to solve the problems that we ALL know are important to tackle.
