Croton's Jon Glaser Makes Finals in 'Locally Grown Recipe Contest'
Maryanne Hedrick of MyPersonalFarmers.com, writes in with an exciting local morsel; “Our first annual Locally Grown Recipe Contest grand prize winner is Cara Cea of Suffern, for her preparation of her original recipe for Ratatouille Pizza featuring local ingredients.
Along with Cea, the finalist chefs included Jonathan Glaser of Croton-on-Hudson, who prepared his recipe for Roasted Corn and Beet Salad; Kelly Ann Milo of Cold Spring, who created a Summer Risotto; and Michele Lynn of Piermont, who prepared her recipe for Roasted Vegetable Lasagna.”

“Cea’s Ratatouille Pizza was judged the best overall by judges Jeff Raider, Executive Chef of Valley Restaurant at The Garrison; Liz Johnson, food editor of The Journal News, and myself. All of the finalized prepared their recipes in person for the judges, using the banquet kitchen at The Garrison, on September 4. On September 19th, the grand prize announcement was made in the Journal News and on local television network RNN, which created a one-half hour special of the contest finals.
In reality, all of the finalists were actually winners, and all received a gift certificate to MyPersonalFarmers.com. Cara Cea also received a gift certificate for a Tasting Menu dinner at Valley Restaurant.”
