Croton Police Blotter - Week of October 1st

October 2
4:30 PM: Police reponded to a report of an oversized tractor trailer was stuck under the Warren Road overpass on Route 9 North. Upon arrival to the scene police closed the right-hand lane thus causing significant traffic delays. NYSDOT officials were also summoned to inspect the bridge after the truck was moved, and found no significant damage as a result of the accident.
October 3
1:25 PM: There was a report from a resident of Church Street that someone had recently damaged the paint finish on her parked car. The matter is under investigation.
October 4
1:47 PM: There was a report from an employee at the Half Moon Bay Marina that someone recently damaged their bulletin board. The matter is under investigation.
11:55 PM: Officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle traveling on North Riverside Avenue for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, police arrested the driver, a 39-year-old female resident of Montrose with DWI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The woman was brought to police HQ for arraignment, subsequently taken to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of posting $50,000 bail, and is later due to appear in village court. The woman’s 5-year-old child, who was not restrained in the car, was held in care of police until the father picked him up.
October 5
11:42: There was a report from a resident of Park Avenue about someone tresspassing in is back yard. The matter is part of an ongoing investigation about similar reports over the passed two weeks.
October 6
1:35 PM: Patrol responded to reports of two mattresses in the roadway on Route 9 South that were obstructing traffic. Upon arrival, police moved the debris to the shoulder of the roadway and summoned NYSDOT to clean up.
11:22: There was a report from a resident of Benedict Boulevard about someone trespassing in is back yard. The matter is part of an ongoing investigation about similar reports over the passed two weeks.
October 7
5:40 PM: Patrol was called to Senasqua Park about loud music in the area. Upon arrival, police asked an indivdual to lower the volume on his portable stereo.
October 8
9:58 AM: There was a report from a custodian at Croton Harmon High School that someone drove a car on to the ballfield, thus causing malicious damage to the turf and playing area.
11:21 AM: There was a report from an employee at The New China Inn that money was taken from the premises. Police found no evidence of forced entry into the building while the matter remains under investigation.
