CHEF 'EYEs' Upcoming Artist Collaboration for Fundraiser

For the second year, EYE, the Croton-based group of visual artists “Erase Your Ego”, will hold an event in support of the Croton-Harmon Education Foundation (CHEF).

The artists will work collaboratively to create a multi-panel piece of work using a variety of painting, drawing and collage materials. When completed, the panels will be auctioned off at a silent auction. The opening bids for each panel will be $100. The following day the entire picture will be dismantled and broken into its 24 panels. 50% of each panel’s auction price will be donated to CHEF and 50% retained by EYE.

The event will be held at Rutheny’s Gallery at 80 Brook Street on Saturday, December 1, at 7:30 pm. where the actual painting will take place. The local band Clogswell will be at Rutheny’s playing while the artists work. Last year’s event was a big success and this year promises to be the same.

Put this CHEF—EYE event on your calendar. It’s a great way to support both local arts and local education. Refreshments of light appetizers and wine will be provided. For further information call Rutheny’s at 914-271-0980 or CHEF at 914-271-5123.

If you have a program idea—please share it with CHEF. Applications can be filled out by students, teachers or parents. The deadline for fall 2007 grants is December 15th. The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation has been in existence for over seven years. Through the generous support of the Croton community, CHEF has awarded grants of more than $330,000 for a variety of initiatives, many of which give students unique educational experiences that go beyond the scope of traditional classroom learning.
