CHEF's Dine-A-Round Set for February 2nd

January 18, 2008

The third annual Croton-Harmon Education Foundation (CHEF) Dine-A-Round will take place Saturday, February 2, 2008, starting at 6 PM. Traditionally this event raises over $10,000 for the Croton-Harmon School District.

The evening will starts with appetizers at the home of Molly and Chuck Folta. The Folta home was built during prohibition as a “getaway party house” for Manhattanites. The original bar is still in the Folta basement so it is fitting to start the evening’s festivities here. The talented Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School string musicians, directed by Sara Worden, will be playing during the cocktail hour.

At 8 PM dinner will be served at many different homes around town. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience some of the eclectic homes of Croton while mingling with old and new friends.

Dessert and dancing will continue at 10 PM at the home of Joe Slakas and Barbara Hart. Mike Risko Music School House Band, one of Croton’s hottest bands, will be playing all of your favorite dance and rock music so be sure to bring your dancing shoes.

Tickets for the Dine-A-Round are still available but going fast. Please contact Demetra Restuccia at or 914-827-9048 or Bianca Mancinelli at or 914-827-0018. The Dine-A-Round will be a unique and wonderful event that you won’t want to miss. All proceeds go to the Croton-Harmon Education Foundation in support of our schools and our children.

If you have a program idea—please share it with CHEF. Applications can be filled out by students, teachers or parents. The deadline for spring 2008 grants is May 2008. The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation has been in existence for over eight years. Through the generous support of the Croton community, CHEF has awarded grants of more than $330,000 for a variety of initiatives, many of which give students unique educational experiences that go beyond the scope of traditional classroom learning.
